VNCPassView v1.02

VNCPassView is a small utility that recover the passwords stored by the VNC tool. It can recover 2 of passwords: password stored for the current logged-on user (HKEY_CURRENT_USER in the Registry), and password stored for the all users.

This utility doesn't require any installaion process or additional DLLs. Just run the executable file (VNCPassView.exe), and the VNC passwords will be displayed, if they are stored on your computer.

In order to translate VNCPassView to other language, follow the instructions below:
  1. Run VNCPassView with /savelangfile parameter:
    VNCPassView.exe /savelangfile
    A file named VNCPassView_lng.ini will be created in the folder of VNCPassView utility.
  2. Open the created language file in Notepad or in any other text editor.
  3. Translate all string entries to the desired language. Optionally, you can also add your name and/or a link to your Web site. (TranslatorName and TranslatorURL values) If you add this information, it'll be used in the 'About' window.
  4. After you finish the translation, Run VNCPassView, and all translated strings will be loaded from the language file.
    If you want to run VNCPassView without the translation, simply rename the language file, or move it to another folder.

Remote Desktop PassView v1.01 - Recover the password of Remote Desktop Connection utility

Remote Desktop PassView is a small utility that reveals the password stored by Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection utility inside the .rdp files.

Remote Desktop PassView doesn't require any installation process or additional DLL files. Just copy the executable (rdpv.exe) to any folder you like, and run it. After you run rdpv.exe, the main window display the passwords of .rdp located under your "My Documents" folder. The default .rdp file (Default.rdp) is usually stored in this location
If you want to recover that password of another .rdp file, just drag the file from Explorer into the window of Remote Desktop PassView utility or use the "Open .rdp File" option from the File menu.
Be aware that Remote Desktop PassView can only recover the passwords created by your current logged on user. It cannot recover the passwords of .rdp files created by other users.

WirelessKeyView v1.30 - Recover lost wireless network key

WirelessKeyView recovers all wireless network security keys/passwords (WEP/WPA) stored in your computer by the 'Wireless Zero Configuration' service of Windows XP and by the 'WLAN AutoConfig' service of Windows Vista. PasswordFox v1.15 - Extract the user names/passwords stored in Firefox

PasswordFox is a small password recovery tool that allows you to view the user names and passwords stored by Mozilla Firefox Web browser. By default, PasswordFox displays the passwords stored in your current profile, but you can easily select to watch the passwords of any other Firefox profile. For each password entry, the following information is displayed: Record Index, Web Site, User Name, Password, User Name Field, Password Field, and the Signons filename.

This utility works under Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, and Windows Vista. Firefox should also be installed on your system in order to use this utility.

SniffPass v1.07 - Password Monitoring Software

SniffPass is small password monitoring software that listens to your network, capture the passwords that pass through your network adapter, and display them on the screen instantly. SniffPass can capture the passwords of the following Protocols: POP3, IMAP4, SMTP, FTP, and HTTP (basic authentication passwords).
You can use this utility to recover lost Web/FTP/Email passwords.

SniffPass can capture passwords on any 32-bit Windows operating system (Windows 98/ME/NT/2000/XP/2003/Vista) as long as WinPcap capture driver is installed and works properly with your network adapter.
Under Windows 2000/XP (or greater), SniffPass also allows you to capture TCP/IP packets without installing any capture driver, by using 'Raw Sockets' method. However, this capture method has the following limitation:
  • On Windows XP/SP1 passwords cannot be captured at all - Thanks to Microsoft's bug that appeared in SP1 update...
    This bug was fixed on SP2 update, but under Vista, Microsoft returned back the outgoing packets bug of XP/SP1.

Starting from version 1.02, you can also use the Network Monitor driver of Microsoft (Under Windows 2000/XP only) for capturing passwords. In order to install it, follow the instructions in Microsoft Web site.

Network Password Recovery v1.22 - Recover Windows XP/Vista network passwords (Credentials file)

When you connect to a network share on your LAN or to your .NET Passport account, Windows allows you to save your password in order to use it in each time that you connect the remote server. This utility recovers all network passwords stored on your system for the current logged-on user. It can also recover the passwords stored in Credentials file of external drive, as long as you know the last log-on password.

Which passwords this utility can recover ?

  • Login passwords of remote computers on your LAN.
  • Passwords of mail accounts on exchange server (stored by Outlook 2003)
  • Password of MSN Messenger / Windows Messenger accounts

When you login into a web site with user name and password, you sometimes have the option to store the password in your computer. If you choose to save the password, in the next time that we'll visit this site, the password field will be automatically filled with your password, but you won't be able to view it, because the password-box shows the password as sequence of asterisks (****).

This utility reveals the passwords stored behind the asterisks in the web pages of Internet Explorer 5.0 and above. You can use it for recovering a lost web site password, if it's stored on your computer.

Asterisk Logger v1.04 - Reveal/recover/monitor lost password behind asterisks (***)

Many applications, like CuteFTP, CoffeeCup Free FTP, VNC, IncrediMail, Outlook Express, and others, allows you to type a password for using it in the application. The typed password is not displayed on the screen, and instead of the real password, you see a sequence of asterisk ('****') characters. This utility can reveal the passwords stored behind the asterisks in standard password text-boxes.

Asterisk Logger is a successor of AsterWin utility. It reveals the asterisk passwords in the same way as AsterWin utility, but it has some advantages over the previous utility:
  • You don't have to press a button in order to reveal the asterisk passwords. Whenever a new window containing a password box is opened, Asterisk Logger automatically reveals the password inside the password-box, and add a record to passwords list in the main window of Asterisk Logger.
  • Asterisk Logger displays additional information about the revealed password: The date/time that the password was revealed, the name of the application that contains the revealed password box, and the executable file of the application.
  • Asterisk Logger allows you the save the passwords to HTML file and to 3 types of text files.

Dialupass v3.05 - Extract dialup/RAS/VPN passwords stored by Windows

This utility enumerates all dialup/VPN entries on your computers, and displays their logon details: User Name, Password, and Domain. You can use it to recover a lost password of your Internet connection or VPN.
Dialupass also allows you to save the dialup/VPN list into text/html/csv/xml file, or copy it to the clipboard.

This utility works under Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 2003/2008, Windows Vista, and Windows 7. The passwords are revealed only if you log on to the computer with administrator privileges. If you need to recover your dialup passwords from Windows 9x/ME, you can use Dialupass v2.45

Protected Storage PassView v1.63

Protected Storage PassView is a small utility that reveals the passwords stored on your computer by Internet Explorer, Outlook Express and MSN Explorer. The passwords are revealed by reading the information from the Protected Storage.
Starting from version 1.60, this utility reveals all AutoComplete strings stored in Internet Explorer, not only the AutoComplete password, as in the previous versions.

This utility can show 4 types of passwords:

  1. Outlook passwords: When you create a mail account in Outlook Express or a POP3 account in Microsoft Outlook, and you choose the "Remember password" option in the account properties, the password is saved in the Protected Storage, and this utility can instantly reveal it.
    Be aware that if delete an existing Outlook Express account, the password won't be removed from the Protected Storage. In such a case, the utility won't be able to obtain the user-name of the deleted account, and only the password will be shown.
    Starting from version 1.50, the passwords of Outlook Express identities are also displayed.
  2. AutoComplete passwords in Internet Explorer: Many Web sites provides you a logon screen with user-name and password fields. When you log into the Web site, Internet Explorer may ask you if you want to remember the password for the next time that you log into this Web site. If choose to remember the password, the user-name and the password are saved in the Protected Storage, and thus they can be revealed by Protected Storage PassView.
    In some circumstances, multiple pairs of user-name and passwords are stored for the same logon window. In such case, the additional passwords will be displayed as sub-items of the first user-password pair. In sub-items, the resource name is displayed as 3 dots ('...')
  3. Password-protected sites in Internet Explorer: Some Web sites allows you to log on by using "Basic Authentication" or "Digest Access Authentication". When you enter the Web site, Internet Explorer displays a special logon dialog-box and asks you to enter your user-name and password. Internet Explorer also gives you the option to save the user-name/password pair for the next time you log-on. If you choose to save the logon data, the user-name and the password are saved in the Protected Storage, and thus they can be revealed by Protected Storage PassView.
    In this category, you can also find the passwords of FTP servers.
  4. MSN Explorer Passwords:
    The MSN Explorer browser stores 2 types of passwords in the Protected Storage:
    • Sign-up passwords
    • AutoComplete passwords

By default, this utility shows all 4 types of passwords. You can select to show or hide a specific type of password, by choosing the right password type from the View menu.

This utility can only show the passwords of the current logged-on user. it cannot reveal the passwords of other users.

IE PassView v1.17 - Recover lost passwords stored by Internet Explorer

IE PassView is a small password management utility that reveals the passwords stored by Internet Explorer Web browser, and allows you to delete passwords that you don't need anymore. It supports all versions of Internet Explorer, from version 4.0 and up to 8.0.

For each password that is stored by Internet Explorer, the following information is displayed: Web address, Password Type (AutoComplete, Password-Protected Web Site, or FTP), Storage Location (Registry, Credentials File, or Protected Storage), and the user name/password pair. You can select one or more items from the passwords list and export them into text/html/csv/xml file.

Mail PassView v1.52 - Extract lost email passwords

Recovers the passwords of the following email programs: Outlook Express, Microsoft Outlook 2000 (POP3 and SMTP Accounts only), Microsoft Outlook 2002/2003 (POP3, IMAP, HTTP and SMTP Accounts), IncrediMail, Eudora, Netscape Mail, Mozilla Thunderbird, Group Mail Free.

Mail PassView can also recover the passwords of Web-based email accounts (HotMail, Yahoo!, Gmail), if you use the associated programs of these accounts.

MessenPass v1.27 - Recover Lost Instant Messenger Passwords

MessenPass is a password recovery tool that reveals the passwords of the following instant messenger applications:
